Following our November Meeting one of our members, Paul Rivenbark, had engaged Medipac, on behalf of the Loonies and Toonies Club, regarding the situation that existed between the hospital and Medipac at that time (which was not positive). Medipac responded quickly to establish a working relationship with The Villages Hospital (see correspondence below). On behalf of the Loonies and Toonies we wish to thank Paul Rivenbark.

Dear Paul Rivenbark:
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me on Friday regarding The Villages Hospital.
As discussed we have had many clients seen and treated at The Villages Hospital and have been directly billed by the hospital so I was a little surprised when I heard about the meeting.
In any event, we have received confirmation of the following from Courtney Badman, System Director for The Villages and hope this will help you in easing the minds of concerned clients:

1) The Villages hospital will be happy to accept clients who are insured with Medipac International, however payment for elective procedures will have to be confirmed;
2) Clients insured with Medipac International will not have to pay a $2,000 deposit;
3) Clients insured with Medipac International will be treated at the hospital, not stabilized and transferred to a different location.

We thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Should you have any further concerns regarding this issue, please feel free to contact me directly.

Regards,
Patricia Clyke

As a postscript we contacted Mr. Rothrock to confirm accuracy and he implies that he is OK with this but coverage still has to be verified at time of visit.
